Richard J. Davidson of Springfield passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, at his sister's home in Springfield.

He was born on March 19, 1964, in Springfield. Richard was lovingly raised by his grandmother and grandfather, Marjorie and John Lomba. He was the beloved son of the late Thomas Davidson and Colleen (Patterson) Cheries. Richard was raised and educated in Springfield and was a graduate of Putnam Vocational High School.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves. He later dedicated his career to public service, working for the City of Springfield as a police officer assigned to the Springfield Police Department pool. After 20 years of faithful and committed service, he retired with pride.

In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his two brothers, Mark Davidson and Randy Davidson.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Haley Davidson; his son, Parker Davidson; his sister, Mary LaRace and his brother-in-law, Schley "Rocky" LaRace. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.

At Richard's request, all services were private.
