Koup Family Funeral HomeRick Davis of Neal, retired Boeing/Spirit Manufacturing Engineer fell asleep in Christ on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Ascension Saint Francis Hospital, in Wichita, at the age of 68.
He was born on March 21, 1957 to Frank and Vera (Dawson) Davis in Wichita, Kansas. He attended High School at Bishop Carroll where he played football and sang in the choir. He loved music and took up playing the bass guitar at the age of 14. He played in many rock bands and country bands around the Wichita area. On July 14, 1974, he married his true love, Jill Fitch. They were blessed with one daughter, Angie. After living in Wichita, they moved to Cheney in 1988, then finally to their peaceful country home in Neal in 1997.
Rick enjoyed selling real estate and cars for Gorges Volvo early in his working career before he found his true calling as a Manufacturing Engineer for Boeing/Spirit where he retired after 37 years. Rick was very well respected and admired by his co-workers. In retirement, he enjoyed taking care of the land but his happiest moments were sitting on the porch with Jill drinking coffee and watching the sunrise.
Rick had an intense passion for his Heavenly Father and his Lord Jesus Christ. He would spend hours reading God’s word, researching nutrition and sharing all he could to help others he cared about. He loved his family deeply, always trying to protect and guide them. He gave hugs and told them how much he loved them every time he saw them. He had a kind, generous heart and loved his country profoundly. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and a life well-lived.
Rick is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jill of the home; daughter, Angie and son-in-law, Ramon Miller of Wichita; grandchildren Zachary, Logan, and Bailey Miller; and one brother, Steve Davis of Towanda. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Maria Davis.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Mr. Rick Farrier officiating. Cremation has been effected. Inurnment will follow at Neal Cemetery.
