Richard A. Dean passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 30th. Rich was born October 19th, 1939 to Harry and Margaret (Dearing) Dean in Boston. Rich enjoyed the outdoors his entire life and was an avid traveler and mountain climber. He traveled to all 50 states, Canada and climbed mountains and hiked on five continents. Rich was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was very patriotic and proud of his service. Upon returning to Boston, he worked for a railroad and then enjoyed working for a long time at Belmont Hill School in Belmont, until his retirement earlier this century. Rich was a lifelong resident of Brighton, and a lifelong parishioner of St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Brighton. Rich was predeceased by both parents and by his brother Paul. He is survived by his sister Dorothy and sister in law Jane S. Dean of Johns Creek, GA . Rich is also survived by niece Heather A. Dean of Johns Creek, GA and Geoffrey S. Dean of Nashua, NH. In later years Rich enjoyed much time with and is also survived by great nephews Michael P. Dean and Paul R. Dean of Clinton, MA. We extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at both St. Elizabeth's hospital in Brighton and the compassion and care given to Rich at Briarwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Needham.
