Richard M. DeMoss, 69 of Shaftsbury, VT, passed away on July 15, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Rick was born on January 21, 1954, in Crosbyton, TX, the son of Melvis and Sidney Jo (Roberts) DeMoss. Rick married the former Amy Blatner on September 3, 1994 in Lake Tahoe.
Rick was a medical device engineer for many years and most recently worked for Mack Molding in Arlington, VT from which he retired in 2020.
Rick was an avid fisherman and had also been a charter captain in the Gulf of Mexico. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping and hiking and was an avid gardener. He didn't sit still very often. He was a loving and doting husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved spending time with his granddaughter Vera.
Rick is survived by his wife, Amy, of Shaftsbury, VT, his son, Cole DeMoss of Bennington, VT his granddaughter, Vera DeMoss, his brother, Ranny (Susan) DeMoss of Braunfels, TX, his sister, Bethanne (Elzy) Beam of Junction, TX and a sister-in-law, Beverly (Gary) Bagelman of Austin, TX and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by a nephew, Chad DeMoss.
A memorial service will be held at the Mahar Funeral Home in Bennington, VT at a later date.
