Visitation will be Wednesday, from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary will be prayed at 11:00 am.
Richard was a man who truly loved the simple things in life. Whether he was out fishing at sunrise, enjoying a round of golf, playing cards with family, or trying his luck at the casino, he found joy in the everyday moments. He didn’t need much to be happy, just time with the people he loved, a good story to tell, and, of course, a cold Miller Lite in his hand.
He had a special way of making everyone laugh. His humor, quick wit, and perfectly timed comments could lighten any mood. Alongside that laughter was his well-known stubborn streak, something those closest to him knew and loved about him. He stood firm in what he believed, especially when it came to protecting and providing for his family.
Above all else, he loved his wife, Linda, his children, Aimee, Rick, and Greg, and his grandchildren with his whole heart. His family was his greatest accomplishment and his proudest joy. He wanted nothing more than the very best for them and worked tirelessly to make sure they felt supported, encouraged, and deeply loved. His presence was steady, strong, and comforting, the kind you always knew you could count on.
His legacy lives on in the laughter he inspired, the lessons he taught, and the unconditional love he gave so freely.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that somewhere there’s a fishing pole nearby, a card game waiting to start, and a perfectly chilled Miller Lite in hand.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Linda LeBlanc Denlinger; children, Rick Denlinger (Christine), Aimee Adams (Mike), and Gregory Denlinger (Robin); grandchildren, Abbie Derouen, Logan Derouen, Emily Denlinger Broussard (Derek), Erin Denlinger, Chandler Denlinger, Lexi Denlinger, Kennedy Denlinger, and Elise Theriot; great grandchild, Sailor Denlinger; brother, Donnie Denlinger (Elaine); sister, Rochelle Bernard; and a sister-in-law, Keri Denlinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Helene Judice Denlinger; brother, Eugene Denlinger; and a great grandchild, Baylor Broussard.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
