Richard Dickson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.C. Kirby and Son Lovers Lane Chapel - Bowling Green from Jan. 15 to Jan. 16, 2026.
Richard Dale Dickson, 66, of Bowling Green passed away January 15, 2026 at Heartford House in Owensboro.

Richard was born June 26, 1959 to the late Charles Russell Dickson, Jr. and Marie Powell Dickson. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by kindness, gentleness, and unwavering loyalty. He was married to his beloved wife of 44 years, Tresa Dickson, and together they built a home rooted in love, patience, and compassion.

In addition to his wife, Tresa, Richard is survived by two sons, Jeffery Dickson (Laura) of Utica, Kentucky and Kevin Dickson (Jennifer) of Panama City, Florida both of whom he was very proud of; eight grandchildren, Gavin, Miles, Baylor, Riley, Piper, Natalie, James, and Brooklyn, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride; and his only sibling, Linda Foster (Doug) of Bowling Green whom he shared an unbreakable bond with, a love that remained constant throughout his life and will endure beyond it. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and family in general was unconditional and evident in every quiet act of care, every encouraging word, and every moment he was present for them.

Those who knew Richard will remember him as the kindest and gentlest man. He never raised his voice and never carried a temper. He met everyone with warmth, respect, and an open heart, treating people with the same kindness regardless of circumstance. Loyalty was one of his strongest qualities-he stood by the people he loved with steadfast devotion and could always be counted on to show up, listen, and support without judgment.

Richard's legacy is one of love freely given, patience consistently practiced, and a life lived with humility and grace. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will take place at Bowling Green Gardens.
