Richard Warren Dingle, 82, of Clymer, NY, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025, of complications from a stroke he suffered on April 10.
He was born March 12, 1943, in Erie, PA, a son of the late Charles Warren and Dorothy (Twichell) Dingle.
Rick grew up in Waterford, PA, and graduated from Ft LeBoeuf High School where he met and began dating Cheryl McReynolds. After high school, he attended Penn State University (main campus) earning a Bachelor of Science in agriculture. Cheryl also attended Penn State and one week after her graduation, June 19, 1965, Rick married his high school sweetheart.
After Penn State and his wedding, it was off to Hanover, PA to work at Agway. After two years, he decided being away from his family and home was not for him. He returned to Penn State to get his teaching certificate and ultimately earned a master's degree in Earth Science from Edinboro University. Rick then followed his parents into the education profession. He initially began his teaching career in Cochranton, then moved to the Wattsburg School District where he taught science and agriculture and served as an assistant wrestling coach. After approximately five years he returned to his alma mater, Ft LeBoeuf. There, he taught high school vocational agriculture, horticulture, and environmental science for 30 years before retiring. After retiring from teaching, he kept busy with part time employment at Peek'n Peak and Corry Auto Auction.
Rick loved his family, friends, farming, hunting, pets, country music, wine making, bourbon, traveling (especially out west), Penn State football, playing cards, motorcycle riding, and our wonderful, natural world and all of its seasons. Summers were for boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming in the pond, and anything on or in water. No matter the season, he was always up for a good soiree and a "beverage" with those closest to him. At heart, he was also a civil and structural engineer: he built his own house, two ponds, miles of fencing, several barns and garages, miles of trails, and deer stands. Like the best dad, he also built a couple of decks, garages, a full addition, and numerous home renovations for each of his kids.
Rick gave to his community, leading the Ft LeBoeuf Future Farmers of America program and serving as Secretary on the Waterford Fair Board of Directors. While there, he led the fund raising and ultimately the building of the 4H and FFA Show Barn and wash rack. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, C. Warren and Dorothy Dingle; his parents-in-law, Donnell and Donna Brogdon; his brothers, Joe and Tom Dingle, his son, Scott Dingle, and his son-in-law, Jeremy Chism.
Rick is survived by his wife, Cheryl Dingle; his daughters, Jodi Gould and Kelly Chism; his son in every way but genetic, Kevin Frank; his daughter-in-law, Larene Dingle; his son-in-law, Timothy Gould, his three grandsons: Christian Chism, Travis Chism, and Billy Dingle; his sister, Kathy Waldron, and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves his life-long friends, Roger and Verna Allgeier, Hal and Alice Beavers, Kerry and MaryAnn Duncan, Emil and Carole Belcastro, and the more recent but no less important "Man Night" crew.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bracken Funeral Home in Corry, PA, on Monday, June 16th, from 4 PM to 5 PM and attend the memorial service there at 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree or donate to the Clymer Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad or any charity of your choice.

Mr. Dingle was a wonderful teacher, man, and steward of the community and nature! He always had a smile while walking the halls of FLBHS! They don't make people like this, anymore!
