Richard Lee "Dick" Drummond, 83 years old, of Green City, Missouri went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 21, 2025, at his home with family.
Dick was born on April 10, 1942, in Stahl, Missouri to Denton and Delma (Frost) Drummond.
Dick married the love of his life, Judy (Scott) Drummond on September 25, 1965, just celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings, Christene Elyard, Ken Dummond, Sam Drummond, Ed Drummond, Janie Rhoads, Bood Drummond, Dot Mendenhall, Dee Drummond, Jene Brown, and Larry Drummond.
Dick is survived by his wife Judy of the home, Dick and Judy have three children; Patrick (Vicky) Drummond of Mt. Pleasant, IA; Tina (Tarry) Pote of Oskaloosa, IA; and Paulette (Darrin) Embree of Green City, MO. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Brocke (Megan) Drummond, Kayla (Jon) Eagles, Kenzi (Andrew) Pester, Cole Kurimski, Hailey Kurimski, Nicolette (Hadley) Williams, and Delaney (Aaron) Schnelle; 5 great grandchildren; and his sister, Renie Roseberry of Gladstone, Missouri.
Dick graduated from Green City in 1960. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1960, serving honorably for 4 years; both domestic and abroad, including in Germany and England, notably during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Dick worked as a foreman for 18 years at Donaldson Co., later working in construction and welding before retiring in 1997, while continually maintaining the family farm from 1973-1999. Dick loved his family; enjoyed being with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their camper, old cars (building his own and finishing it in 2017), hunting, and farming.
A funeral service for Dick will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, East of Green City. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Mt. Olivet Cemetery or the Morelock Cemetery.
