Alton:
Richard Ebrey, 78, passed away at 8:50pm on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at his residence. He was born on February 10, 1947, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the son of the late Leonard and Thelma (Carpenter) Ebrey. He married the former Linda Robertson on February 19, 1965, in Alton, and she survives. Other survivors include a son and daughter in law: Lee and Tonya Ebrey of Alton, five grandchildren: Alyson (Josh Hensley) Ebrey, Georgia Dodson, Charles Dodson, Jeremy (Josh Humes) Myers, Matthew Myers, four great grandchildren: Raiden, MaKenna, Major, Myles, a brother in law: Jerry (Mary Lou Weininger) Stahlschmidt, a special friend: Donna Westerfield, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Richard was an assembly line worked at General Motors for thirty - two years. He enjoyed collecting and working on classic cars and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Nadine Ebrey, four sisters: Marilyn Shank, Dorothy Knox, Judy Ogle, Dixie Beddingfield, two brothers: Leonard Ebrey, Kenneth Ebrey, a brother in law: Bob Andrews, and a special friend: Charles Marzucco.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
