Richard "Dick" Eiseman

Dick Eiseman was born in 1923 in New Orleans, LA to Annie Rosenberg Eiseman Reinberger and Cassius Eiseman Jr. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

While serving in World War II in the U.S. Army AirCorps from 1942-1945, he flew 32 missions in a B17 over Germany and France with the 8th Air Force as a flight engineer & top turret gunner.

For his service, he received the distinguished Flying Cross and the French Legion of Honor Medal, in addition to other decorations and citations.

In Memphis, TN, he and Ina Plesofsky Eiseman, who prededed him in death, were married for 64 years. The had 3 children, Rick Eiseman (Bari), Bob Eiseman (Tami), Beth Eiseman Graber (Rusty), 5 Grandchildren, Brad (Sarah) Eiseman, Scott (Lacey) Eiseman, Zac Graber, Monte (Baylee) Eiseman, Brandi Eiseman and 4 Great Grandchildren, Colton Eiseman, Axel Eiseman, Sloane Eiseman, Dahlia Eiseman.

Beginning in 1952, Dick began his career at Paper Products Company, and in 1958 became an owner/partner for 27 years until they merged with Century Paper where he worked for another 10 years.

A family man from the beginning, it was customary for Dick & Ina to plan annual family trips all over the world with their children and later with the grandchildren. Cruising was the vacation of choice beginning in the 1970s.

He was an avid Memphis Tigers football & basketball fan, and the Memphis Grizzlies. They were season ticket holders continuously from the 1950's. Until recently, he attended every game and could have been the oldest and longest running Tiger fan in attendance. He also loved to play golf and supported the St. Jude’s/FedEx classic with sponsorships and attended every year.

He served on the board of Temple Israel, as well as being in charge the Temple Cemetery for years. Planning and building a World War II memorial at the cemetery was one of his proudest accomplishments.
