Richard Fallows Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center - Murray on Feb. 13, 2024.
The loved ones of Richard Fallows, age 79, bid a fond and temporary farewell to him on February 6, 2024. Rich was born to Albert and Lorna Fallows on May 12, 1944, in Fort Lewis, Washington. He served in the Air National Guard of Utah and The Reserve of the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1972. He studied at the University of Utah and Utah Technical College.
Rich was employed for many years at US West/Qwest where he enjoyed his work as a lineman.
Because of Rich's father's service in the military, Rich lived in many different areas. One of the highlights during that time was when he and his family lived in Italy for 3 years.
Rich loved cars and had many different ones throughout the years. In the last years of his life, he was well known for his red Chevy truck. He also loved fishing and camping where he spent many memorable times with his family.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in the French East mission. He also served as a temple worker for several years until the devastating effects of Alzheimer's Disease deprived him of serving. He actually washed dishes at The Bountiful Temple and felt it kept him humble. He thoroughly loved the people he worked with.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Tom Fallows, his brother and sister-in-law Dan and Dawn Fallows and his brother-in-law Arch Sonntag. He is survived by his sister Norma Sonntag, brother Michael Fallows and his wife Susie, his sister-in-law Pat Fallows, former wife and friend Debbie Bradshaw and his stepchildren Brett, Lance and Alycia. He has many nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly.
A special thanks to Bishop Bryan Tagge, who helped Rich find his way back to his spiritual roots.
A small family gathering for Rich will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:30 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary. 4760 South State Street. Access from 4500 South and State Street. Jenkins is on the West side of the street.
Richard's cremated remains will be placed at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park at Camp Williams.
