Richard E. Fields

Richard E. Fields, 78, passed away May 19, 2011. Mr. Fields was a life resident of this area. He founded Atlas Home Corp., a successful designer and builder of custom co-op built homes throughout N.E. Ohio. He served as president and in an advisory capacity until his demise. As a young man he attended Kent State University and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Throughout his life he was an avid tennis player and was known by many for his sense of humor, sharp mind, and active life style. He is survived by his loving sister, Shirley Apelbaum; and many friends who considered him family, especially his trusted companion, Vilma Abood. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Joseph Abood officiating. Interment at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
