Richard "Rick" Wade Flaws, age 51 of Merrifield, died due to complications of a stroke on June 19, 2024 at United Hospital in St. Paul. He was born March 2, 1973 in Grand Forks, ND to Richard and Twyla (Shellum) Flaws. Rick married Ann Tessmer on July 8, 2001 in Merrifield and they had two daughters.
Rick was the owner and operator of Evergreen Electric, Evergreen Storage, and Storage Boxes Etc. He was a member of Crosslake Lutheran Church. Rick was an avid outdoorsman. He loved going on fishing and hunting trips, and attending concerts with family and friends. He loved and lived large. He will be greatly missed.
Rick is survived by his wife Ann Flaws; his daughters, Elisa Flaws and Emma Flaws; his parents, Richard and Twyla Flaws; his sister, Melonie Flaws; nephew Finn Torkelson and maternal grandmother, Orphie Shellum, all of Merrifield. As well as many other family and friends.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Crosslake Lutheran Church in Crosslake, with a luncheon to follow at Zorbaz in Crosslake. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A private burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Center Township at a later date.
