Richard (Dick) Earl Forsythe, 88, of Connellsville, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. He was born in Connellsville on August 6, 1937, the son of the late Howard Edward and Margaret Oppman Forsythe. He was married to his wife, Judith Parr Forsythe, for over 63 years. He served in the Army Reserve in the early 1960s. He was employed with Oppman Auto Parts for over 45 years, retiring in 2000. He was a van driver for Konetsco bus service for many years during his retirement. He enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life, including golf, trap shooting, mountain biking, riding snowmobiles, fishing, and attending Steelers games. He was one of the original members of the Connellsville Rod & Gun Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Jeanine Forsythe, of Washington, DC; his beloved dog, Sophie; his sister, JoAnn Hoover and her husband Dick of Bradford, PA; his brother-in-law, Van Humbert of Connellsville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Lois Forsythe Olinger and her husband, Roy, and his brother, Howard Edward "Jack" Forsythe, Jr. and his wife Ada. Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
