Richard Doyle Fosnight, 68, went to meet his Savior on December 26, 2025.
He was born June 25, 1957, in Wichita, KS to George and Flossie (Yoder) Fosnight.
Richard was a 1975 graduate of Wichita High School West. During high school summer church camp, he met Loretta Lantz, the love of his life. They were married on February 7, 1976, in Hutchinson, KS. In December of 1977, they started their family and were blessed with 4 children over the next 15 years. Eventually, their children started marrying and having their own families. He cherished and loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and one great-grandson so very much.
Above all, Richard loved the Lord. He was a member of Grace Bible Church in Hutchinson, KS. Throughout his life, he was involved in Summer church Bible camp, children's church, puppets, small groups, video ministry, and reading his Bible. Richard
also enjoyed tending to his vegetable and flower gardens, working with tools for
woodworking and blacksmithing, and spending quality time lakeside camping with his family.
Richard was preceded in death by: his wife of 50 years, Loretta Fosnight; his parents, George and Flossie Fosnight; his older sisters, Louise Walker and Phyllis Penner.
Richard is survived by: siblings, Aaron (Pat) Fosnight, Byron (Karen) Fosnight, Keith (Charlene) Fosnight, and Michele (Tim) Soest; children, Suzanne (Donny) Johnson of Clearwater, KS, Rich Fosnight of Moore, OK, Stephen (Nadine) Fosnight of SeaTac, WA, Jonny (Tyler Manlove) Fosnight of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Triston, Trevor, Tanner, Corban, Sawyer Johnson, all of Clearwater, KS, Savannah (Derek Griffey) Fosnight, Lynleigh Fosnight, Brakston Fosnight, Bryson Fosnight-Soltero all of Moore, OK, Wesley Fosnight of Tyler, TX; great-grandchild, Danté Griffey of Moore, OK.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on January 1, 2026, at Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main St. The Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026, at Grace Bible Church (Fireside Chapel), 1221 E. 33rd, Hutchinson, with Pastor Bart Horton officiating. Luncheon for the family will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers,memorials are suggested to Grace Bible Church or Cancer Council of
Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
