Richmondville- Richard Gregory Fountain, 59, of Lincoln Park Lane, Richmondville, New York died unexpectedly, Thursday, July 20, 2023 at his home.
Born on July 23, 1963 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Edward A. Fountain and Rosemary T. Koster Fountain. He attended Cairo Durham schools. He spent most of his adult life in the local area, residing in Tennessee for a short period of time.
Richard did construction work. He worked for Russell Stover and Purdue as well.
He loved riding motorcycles, playing guitar, and watching his movie collection. He liked to cook and had an appreciation for classic cars.
His parents and brother, Edward predeceased him.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Lisa Marie Fountain and Sara Ann Fountain, both of TN; son, Richard E. Fountain of Altamont, NY; grandchildren, Isaac, Liliana, Avalynn, Nathaniel; brothers, Joe Fountain of NC, Robert Fountain of Galway, NY; sister, Rosemary Shufelt of Cobleskill, NY.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 4:00-7:00PM at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY 12043. A joint committal service will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:00AM at Middleburgh Cemetery.
Contributions in memory of Mr. Richard G. Fountain may be made to a charity of one's choice.
