Richard "Dick" Freer, 93, of Endicott, NY died peacefully on October 29, 2025. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years Barbara Freer; parents Franklin and Alma Freer, brother and sister-in-law Franklin "Sonny" and Juanita Freer; sister and brother-in-law Marion and James Francis; brother-in-law Don Stoddard; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ethel and Wayne Frost; brother-in-law John Zeggert; son-in-law Michael Reardon; grandson Christopher Reardon; and great-granddaughters Stella and Ava James. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Reardon; granddaughter Mindy (Matt) James; great-grandchildren Jackson, Claire, and Bennett James; sister Dorothy Stoddard; sister-in-law Sharon Zeggert; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Florence Zeggert; many nieces and nephews; friend Scott (Ann) Sinnett; and many close friends. Dick was a life-long resident of Johnson City and Endicott, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps; co-owner of Freer's Meats, member of the American Legion Post 89, and Elks Lodge 1977. Dick enjoyed camping and hunting, playing cards, volunteering for American Legion and church dinners, and spending time with his many friends and family. He could make anyone smile, was always quick to lend a helping hand, and deeply loved by all who knew him. The family will receive friends at Barber Memorial Home on Monday November 3, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00. Burial will be at the family's convivence. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the American Heart Association. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Richard, please visit our floral store.
