Richard Garden (Richie) 88, passed away on August 28, 2025. Richie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was the beloved husband of Kathy (Moran). Richie was predeceased by his wife, Kathy Garden, his parents, Agnes (Piscal) Garden and Steven Garden, his brother John, his sisters, Caroline and Cathy, and his brother-in-law, Richard Moran. He is survived by his sister-in-laws Lynn Moran, Vivian Swoboda (Paul) and Mary Ann Viviani (Peter), his nieces Judith Swoboda, Christine Bailey, Lori Beecher and Erica Viviani, his nephew Keith Moran, his Godchild Michele Sabosik, his eight great nephews, Carl Valdivielso, Benjamin Valdivielso, Brady Moran, Blake Moran, Luke Bailey, William Bailey, Thomas Beecher and Andrew Beecher and his godchild's son, James Sabosik.

Richie and his wife, Kathy, lived in four towns in Bergen County, New Jersey: Ridgefield, New Milford, Waldwick and Allendale.

Things that brought Richie enjoyment were camping, playing poker, setting up and sharing his elaborate Christmas scenery with others, hosting parties at his bar, watching John Wayne and Perry Mason on TV and watching the dogs at dog parks. Richie loved his dogs, Shaggy, Cuddles and Benji.

Richie was a kind and loving husband. He was known as Hubby and she was known as Wifey. His and Kathy's life was a beautiful love story.

Visitation and a funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Nativity in Midland Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richie's memory may be made to Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc., 2 Shelter Lane, Oakland, NJ 07436.
