Richard Garza, age 71, of Morton, Texas, died Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born December 29, 1953 in Morton to Federico and Consuelo (Martinez) Garza. He married Antonia Maria Burciaga.
Richard was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He enjoyed bingo and betting on football squares. Richard also loved to sing. He was compassionate and loved to care for his Mama. Richard was simple man, but humble as well. He had numerous friends in Morton and the surrounding towns. He is preceded in death by his father, Federico; four brothers, David Garza, Danny Garza, Mingo Garza and Roel Garza; a step-daughter, Lisa Walton and a step-grandson, Draven Ford.
Richard is survived by his wife, Antonia Maria; his step-son, Enrique Cabezuela of Morton, Texas; two step-daughters, Marisol Cabezuela of Odessa, Texas and Delia Balencia of Midland, Texas; his mother, Consuelo Garza of Morton, Texas; five sisters, Tiva Kulak of Fresno, California, Lessvia Alvarez of Fresno, California, Tressa Vestal of Morton, Texas, Anna Garza of Tyler, Texas and Trina Williams of Morton, Texas; three brothers, Johnny Garza, Abram Garza and Alex Garza; and his nine step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the charity of your choice.
