Richard Donald Goldstein, 74, of Marlton, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Richard Donald Goldstein was born to Henry and Mildred Goldstein in Chester, Pennsylvania on September 22, 1950. Rick was the youngest of four brothers, Carl, Larry, and Bobby, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, laughter, and brotherly bonds.
Rick was known for his outgoing personality, always lighting up the room with his humor and charm. His enthusiasm for life was infectious, particularly when it came to his passions for sports. A devoted fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and 76ers, Rick's dedication to his teams was unwavering, whether he was cheering from the stands or sharing insightful commentary from his writing desk.
During college years in New Hampshire, Ricky and Bobby set out to do a music act that went on for years singing and playing without any back-up band. Night clubs, lounges and resorts throughout the White Mountains enjoyed their duo's music on weekends but not as much as Ricky enjoyed singing and entertaining.
A talented and accomplished sportswriter, Rick spent most of his career turning his love for sports into a vocation. His words brought the thrill of the game to life, capturing moments of triumph and heartbreak with eloquence and passion. Rick's writing was not just about the stats and the scores; it was about the heart of the game, the stories of the players, and the magic that only true fans could appreciate.
Rick was a devoted husband, father, step-father and grandfather. He loved his grandchildren with all of his heart and was always very involved in bringing so much joy to the little ones in his life- loving to spoil them, tell them all his dad jokes and be the best audience for their countless performances.
Rick was loved by his loving wife and best friend (Linda)of 30 years. Rick's spirit will live on through the memories and stories he has left behind. Rest in peace, Ricky. You will be missed and forever remembered.
A memorial service will begin at 12:30 pm, on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Kings Grant Community Room, 50 Landings Drive, Marlton, NJ 08053.
