It is so sad to see such a wonderful human being leave so early, but Richard is making God smile with his wonderful sense of humor and amazingly kind heart. Richard was the kind of friend you had when you´re growing up that you never forget. Two memories I want to share is when Richard, myself, his brother Dave and other friends would play baseball with a tennis ball in the field behind their house and then go to his parents´ house afterwards. He made everyone feel accepted and a part of a family. Another time was when we would all go play tackle football in the grass on the side of the building at the high school. Richard would receive the ball from the kick-off and while everyone was running at him to tackle him, he would turn around and pretend he was tossing the ball to others. Everyone would go past him and then realize he still had the ball in which he would be running to the endzone laughing the whole way. Lastly, the month before I left for the Air Force, I had 2 free tickets to see a Whitney Houston concert at the Muny in St. Louis and Richard and I went. She played her new song "I wanna dance with somebody" and we both had a blast. I regret losing touch with him after I left Salem for the Air Force and now the VA, but I pray for his sisters, Brenda, Athena, and his brothers Mike and Dave. They were all like family to me. I hope when its my time to leave this earth that I leave the kind of legacy with my own 3 daughters and wife like Richard did.
Goodbye old friend.

Rick saved a little puppy,
Muade, now
living in Illinois and her adoptive family, who are forever grateful to Rick. Rick saw a dog in need and he stepped up to help. I will always remember Rick as a very kind soul. Our deepest condolences to Penni and his family.

RIP Richard, as I have fond memories growing up together. Although we drifted our separate ways after high school you will not be forgotten. We were born on the same day and that bond will always remain.
Rest easy my friend and until we see each other again.

Rich, was a friend who no matter how long apart we talked , we could always start right where we left off. A man who had a heart of gold. He showed up to help when ever you needed a friend , even if was a phone call or text. He didn´t forget about where he came from and his friends he left behind in Illinois and else where. This really hurts... I don´t understand it.. but like Penni said. I guess God had other plans. I will see you again my friend...
