Richard Guagliardo Sr, lovingly known to many as Richie, passed away on January 19, 2024, at 72 years old in East Durham, NY. Born in Manhattan and raised in Queens.
He is survived by his loving family, was a devoted husband to Mary for 30 years, father to son, Richard Guagliardo Jr, and daughter Melissa Post. He grew up very close with his two brothers Gary and Bob. Richie was also a proud grandfather to four children, Travis, Doug, Christina and Tom. And also a great grandfather to Vivianna and Freyja.
Richie loved growing up in the city and spending time with his brothers. He met his late wife and decided to relocate to the Catskills with their 1 year old son and 15 year old daughter. Richie was an avid baker where he baked bagels all over NY. He loved to bring bags of bagels to homeless shelters, his kids sporting events and the community. Richie was known for his gentle and kind heart. He loved his family deeply and talked about them often. He was his kids' biggest fan and was very proud to watch them in all their endeavors.
He will be remembered for his kindness, empathy, humor and courage. Richie was also very strong in his faith and always kept a positive attitude throughout life, even during the tough times he would say, "God is good."
Services will be held at Discovery Life Church in Prattsville, NY, Friday evening January 26th at 6pm.
