Richard Bernard Haith affectionately known as "Tyne"
Was born September 25, 1954, in Alamance County, NC to Daisy Mae Haith and Richard Vanhook Sr., after a lengthy illness he transitioned from his labor to eternal rest on July 21, 2025, at his residence.
As we say goodbye, we do so with heavy hearts, but also with immense gratitude for the time we were granted. We remember a life not measured by years alone, but by the depth of his impact, his compassion, and the richness of his memories.
The world feels less bright in "Tyne's" absence, yet the legacy he leaves behind glows ever brighter in the lives he touched. We find solace in the stories, the laughter, and the love that binds us together, even as we part ways with a remarkable soul.
"Tyne" was educated in the Alamance-Burlington school system and would attend St. Matthews AME church alongside his family. He enjoyed listening to all types of music and dancing. Watching his favorites sport teams, Duke Blue Devils and the San Francisco 49'ers was a highlight of his day. Spending time with his family was the most cherished part of his life.
The life and legacy of Richard Bernard Haith will be forever cherished by his family and friends, wife; Avril W. Haith, son; Kali Haith, daughters; Iman Johnson and Rene "Yondi" Johnson-Pettiford (Garson), and sisters; Lisa Haith, Tanya Haith, Anita Vanhook; a brother, Richard Vanhook, Jr.; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; special cousin, Laura "SweetPea" Haith Harris, close friend, John "JT" Turner; aunts, Cynthia D. Haith and Gerdene "Hickey" Byrd, Mary Sagirah Muhammad (Ali) and Wanda Vanhook Oakley; uncles, Luther W. Haith, Brian S. Haith and Malcolm T. Haith, Sr. (Barbara); two nephews, two nieces; step-sister, Yvette Slade(Donald), step-son, Kareem Warren, 5 step grandchildren and a host of other family members and dear friends.
"Tyne" now joins his mother Daisy, father Richard and bonus father, Thomas "Tom" Haith along with other ancestors.
