He was born on July 17, 1941, in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Richard was one of five children born to Thelma Gladys (Ladrach) Harstine and Forest Edwin Harstine. On August 3, 1963, he married Lucene May Sampson. Richard lived in Kosciusko County, Indiana for the past 25 years.
He leaves behind his wife, Lucene Harstine; along with eight children and twenty-one grandchildren.
No public events are scheduled. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
