It is with a profound sense of loss and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Richard F. Heisse, who left this world peacefully on September 16, 2025. He was born on September 29, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, to James A. and Elisabeth Heisse. His life was a testament to the deep and lasting power of family bonds and a spirit that found joy in every moment.

Richard served his country with honor in the Army, and later dedicated his working life to McDonnell Douglas, but his true legacy is found in the home he built and the family he cherished. He was the steadfast and loving center of his family, a role he embraced fully as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

His heart belonged completely to his wife, Katherine Heisse (nee Bohlen). Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories traveling the country and sharing a love story that was an inspiration to all who knew them. Even after her passing, her memory remained a constant light in his life. Richard's loving nature extended to his family, and he was happiest when surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a proud and ever-present figure at their activities and sports, his quick wit and humor a familiar comfort from the sidelines.

He was known for his dedication and reliability, but it was his kind heart and amazing sense of humor that truly defined him. He had an infectious way of finding happiness in daily activities, making life a little brighter for everyone around him.

He is survived by his children, Richard (Catherine), Elisabeth (Michelle), Mark (Jeannie), and Robert (Susan), who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Christina (Daniel), Jacob (Jacqueline), Heather, Briana, Dustin, James (Jolene), Sabrina (Dustin), and Zachary, and his great-grandchildren, Susie, Adelaide, Isabelle, Aurora, Brock, Lilah, Genevieve, Dustin Jr., and Hazel; and his brother-in-law, Frank Baker. Richard was a fun and loving uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katherine; his parents, James A. and Elisabeth Heisse; and his siblings, William Heisse, Mildred Buddensick (Edwin), Mary Wilson (Fred), Edward Heisse, Robert Heisse (Irene), Ellen Jones (Ron), Jackie Baker (Buzz), Judy Baker, and James Heisse.

His life was a beautiful example of finding the simplest pleasures in life and bringing great joy to those around him. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, humor, and unwavering spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family.
