Richard "Rich" Henderson, 74, of Carrollton, Ohio, passed away peacefully after a short illness. Born in Irondale, Ohio on March 9, 1951, Rich was the son of Quenton E. Henderson and Jane E. (Gill) Henderson. He attended Stanton Local High School and later Hobart. For many years, Rich was a familiar face in the community as owner of Henderson's Valley Market in Hammondsville, Ohio. Rich had a passion for classic cars, the outdoors, a good card game, and football. He never knew a stranger and had a gift for turning everyday moments into friendships. His personality was larger than life; full of energy, stories, and laughter. But, his generosity was quiet, humble, and far-reaching. Rich helped many people over the years, always without fanfare and never expecting anything in return. He was deeply proud of his role as a provider, not just in a practical sense, but in the way he showed up for his family time and time again. Being someone his loved ones could count on was one of his greatest points of pride. As "Papa", Rich adored his granddaughter and made it a priority to attend every cheer competition and dance recital he could, always cheering her on with pride and joy. Rich was preceded in death by his father, Quenton E. Henderson; his mother, Jane E. (Gill) Henderson; his sister, Jane A. Blanchard; and his beloved grandparents. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Susan (Clark) Henderson; his son, Jess Henderson; his daughter, Kady Long; his cherished granddaughter, McKenna Long; and many life long friends. At Rich's request, there will be no services. Donations may be made in his memory to Carroll Masonic Lodge #124, PO Box 35, Carrollton, Ohio 44615.
