Richard "Slick" Wayne Higgins went to be with his Lord and Savior and had a reunion with his daughter, Nikole, unexpectedly Sunday Dec 22, 2024. He was definitely a free spirit and you never knew what you'd get into when he was around. He was one of the most adventurous and funniest people we ever knew and you always knew when Rich was around. He had a laugh that was contagious and was definitely a one of a kind type of guy! He loved the outdoors and couldn't be contained, but the one thing he loved the most in this world were his two girls. He loved them more than life itself! He always was on an adventure with them whether it was sporadic trips to Florida, Colorado, or wherever, or just cruising the roads of Monroe county in the middle of the night, of course. To say he adored every aspect of them would be an understatement. He always said his purpose in life were his girls. EVERYONE he knew, and didn't know, knew how proud he was of them and he always said "if I did one thing right, I made beautiful babies". They loved him in return just as much. He was their person, their twin flame, the world's best dad! He will truly and forever be missed!
Rich is survived by his beautiful "princess" and his baby girl Kaylynn Higgins, his cherished granddaughter who he always loved and adored, Bella Madorin, his dog and best buddy Jaxson Higgins, stepson Desmin (Seana) Moriarty, his parents Roger (Julie) Higgins, and Linda Higgins, sisters Stephanie (Gary) Booker, Tammy (Randy) Michael, Tina Porter, Becky Higgins (Theresa Carson), nephew Kendall Porter, nieces Shayla (Brian) Ellis, Kristina Booker, Kneessa (Cameron) Harris, Bexley, Callie, ex-wife and great friend Shannon Szemcsak, and several childhood friends that have always been brothers to him.
He is preceded in death by his beautiful daughter Brittany "Nikole" Higgins, his nephew Brandon Porter, his brother-in-law Brad Porter, and his grandparents..
A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old State Road 37, Bloomington, IN. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Online condolences may be shared with his family at www.allencares.com.
