Richard Kyle Holbrook, age 74, of Irvine, passed away September 30, 2024, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky following a short illness. He was a United States Army Veteran and was stationed in Korea. He was also a pilot in the Swift Association, a Mason, a Kentucky Colonel, and a member of the Shriners Hospital. He graduated from Irvine High School and attended Eastern Kentucky University. He was retired from CSX Transportation and was a member of the Irvine First Christian Church.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Holbrook and Opal Sanders Holbrook, and his niece, Andrea Huggins.
He is survived by his sons, Chris Holbrook and Kyle Holbrook, his sister, Sheila Huggins (Jim), his nephew, James Richard Huggins (Gina), his great nephew, Evan Huggins, special friend, Diane Little, and his lifelong friends, Mike Meade and Darrell Richardson.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. The Warren F. Toler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Shriners Children's Hospital, the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, Kentucky, or the Fisher House at the Veteran's Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
