Richard "Dickie" Sam Hual, 87, of Pensacola, Florida, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Dickie was born in Pensacola on April 9, 1938, to Harold and Emma Hual. He spent his life in the community he loved and later retired from Monsanto after many dedicated years of service.
On December 4, 1959, Dickie married the love of his life and best friend, Eleanor Mitchell Hual. Together, they shared 65 wonderful years filled with laughter, family adventures, and countless camping trips with friends and loved ones.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Mitchell Hual; his sons, Rick Hual (Denise) of Cantonment and Chad Hual (Lisa) of Virginia; brothers, Bobby Hual (Martha) and Jimmy Hual (Sally); and his grandchildren, Lauren Hual Fox (Nick), Justin Hual (Heather), Jason Hual (Angel), Brianna Hual, and Emma Hual. He was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bill Hual (Gloria); and sister, Dotty Pfeiffer (Tommy).
He lived a full and active life, enjoying hobbies such as scuba diving, motorcycle enduros, traveling across the U.S., and fishing. He loved sharing stories, always with a twinkle in his eye, and was endlessly proud of his family-his greatest source of joy. Dickie will be remembered as an amazing friend, a devoted family man, and a role model whose love and encouragement lifted everyone around him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 9th, from 1:00–4:00 p.m. at the home of his son, Rick Hual, 1360 McKenzie Road, Cantonment, FL 32533. Family and friends are invited to stop by to share stories, enjoy refreshments, and celebrate Dickie's life together.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Emerald Coast hospice and palliative care personnel whose compassion and support were a true godsend.
