Richard “Rick” Eugene Hughes Jr., 53, of Lewisville, passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Rick was born October 16, 1971, in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, to Richard Eugene Hughes Sr. and Debbie DeWitt Hughes. Rick was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Scott Bailey; son-in-law, Alex Lemon; as well as all of his grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Angie Hughes; his son, Richard Hughes III (Haley Covert); his daughter, Amanda Lemon; his sister, Nichole Rose (David Rose); his brother, Tim Hughes (Summer Hughes); and his grandchildren, Alison, Asher, Axel Brown and Zelda and Williams Hughes.
Rick enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, playing golf and umpiring baseball. He was a well respected friend and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. In his words “Don’t let what someone else does affect the way you play the game.”
A memorial service will be held 6 PM Friday, March 21, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any local little league organization.
