Richard Douglas Jones (Doug) suffered a fatal fall in his home early Sunday, June 8. Born
September 18, 1948, Doug was the sixth of seven children. He is predeceased by their parents,
Margaret Steinfelt and C. Braddock Jones, Jr. Brothers are Pidge, Steve, Alan and Bruce Jones.
Sisters are Peggy Lee Bullen and Linda Burnett. The family was raised in Round Bay, Severna
Park, MD. Doug is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Karen, along with his three
children, Michael Jones & daughter-in-law, Kelli, Shelly Aherne, and Kelley Wilhoit & son-in-
law, Jeff. They have blessed Doug and Karen with fifteen grandchildren, who survive him as
well. They are Mick, Lily, Calvin, James, Braddock & Mary Lou Jones, Eleanore, Mimi, Estelle
& Alice Aherne, Caroline, Tommy, Matthew, Charlie & Teddy McAndrews, as well as two step
grandchildren, Samantha & Wyatt Wilhoit. Funeral arrangements are provided by Hardesty
Funeral Home in Annapolis. Visitation is Monday June 16, from 10:00 to 11:30 AM, followed
by a Celebration of his life at 11:30.
