Richard Khederian, born January 8, 1958, in Detroit, MI, passed away on January 28, 2025, in Farmington Hills, MI. after a long illness. Son of the late Margaret and Thomas (Khoren) Khederian, he was embraced by his in-laws, the late Henry and Victoria Kachadourian, as family.
Married to Corinne Kachadourian on May 25, 1991, at St. Stepanos Armenian Church in Elberon, NJ, they built a loving home in Bloomfield Hills and shared 33 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Henry Khoren and Victoria Sapega and a cherished brother to Deborah (Neshan) Ohanian. Richard will also be missed by many relatives, family friends and his special caregivers who treated him like family.
A graduate of Cass Tech High School, Richard earned his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Emory University. Admitted to multiple state bars, he began his career interning for the UAW in Washington, D.C., before joining his father's law firm in Detroit. After his father's passing, he moved the practice to Bloomfield Hills, focusing on real estate, contracts, and estate planning. In later years, he served as Counsel at Powers Chapman in Troy before retiring due to illness.
Richard was a proud Armenian and an active member of St. Sarkis and St. John Armenian Churches. He was known for his humor, generosity, and devotion to family, friends and clients. A lifelong Michigan Wolverine, he cherished time spent in Ann Arbor, attending games, and sharing traditions with his children.
A loving husband and father, Richard found joy in family adventures, games, travel, and hosting special occasions. His kindness and warmth left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Visitation Monday, February 3, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Armenian Church.
His funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m.
The memorial meal will take place in the Cultural Hall of St. John Armenian Church after the funeral service.

I was so saddened to learn of Richard´s passing. Without Richard´s friendship and support I don´t know if I would have survived the first semester of law school.
Subsequently we attended each other´s weddings but lost contact with each other as the years passed.
He was truly a sweet and special person
With love

I was saddened to learn of the passing of my dear law school friend Richard. and I became fast friends early in law school and went through the demands of laws school together. These photos of me, Richard and our friend Bert Cohen will always. Bring a big smile to my face as I remember those good times from our youth.
I was married during winter break of our first year at Emory and my wife Rhonda( now 44 year together!!) ) also remembers Richard fondly. I remember Richard as a quiet friend who always offered a warm smile and a soft laugh of friendship. I regret Josing contact with Richard after law school and I offer my sincere condolences to Richard and his beautiful family. Family. . May his memory always be for only aabblessing to all who knew and loved him.
