Richard Patrick Kilhenny Richard Patrick Kilhenny, 75, of
Delray Beach, FL died Saturday, August 2, 2025. The cause was an aggressive lymphoma. Patrick was born in New York City, NY. He launched his business life as a nuclear engineer in Hawaii and went on to own a restaurant in Honolulu plus work in sales while also immersing himself in personal development, where he was most passionate. He became an instructor and leader in the Americana Leadership College and its sister organizations. He gave workshops on using our sixth sense, angels and clarifying our innate life purpose, and he lived what he taught. For example, while living in Hawaii he got a hunch to approach a company selling solar panels and persuade them to hire him solely based on commission. "They gave me a desk and a phone out back." Not long after that, oil prices shot up and the company's products were selling "like hotcakes". He hired sales staff and became the sales manager. He travelled and gave workshops and courses throughout the United States, Canada and Europe for several decades. Patrick lived life on his terms, with strong self-loyalty and an unwavering commitment to his calling and spiritual leadership. Perseverance and commitment are the hallmarks of his character. He became a bishop with Peace Community Church International and also served as president of the non-profit Wayshowers Community Fellowship. He was an executive board member of the non-profit Inner Peace Movement International. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity and a "Wayshower of the Year" award from Wayshowers Community Fellowship. (Wayshower means living and sharing by example, building bridges across spiritual traditions, religions and cultures.) Later in life he married and, for a few years, split his time between Canada, where he became a permanent resident, and the United States. He and his wife, Estelle, co-presented many talks and workshops, mainly in Toronto. In addition, they fostered cats and dogs from animal shelters in Toronto and Florida. As the grandson of Irish immigrants, he also acquired Irish citizenship and spent time with cousins while in Ireland. He enjoyed his many Kilhenny and Hanley cousins and their get-togethers in New York and Florida. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph Patrick Kilhenny and Anne Marie Hanley Kilhenny. He is survived by his wife, M. Estelle Small, sisters Carol Moore (Arthur) and Karen (Robert) Fracchia, nieces and a nephew. A Celebration of his Life will take place on Saturday, August 16 at 3 pm Eastern in his community's Club House, Delray Beach and on Zoom. For attend and receive access, please e-mail his colleague, Kathleen Ellis, at "
[email protected]". Donations in his memory can be made to a
charity of choice or to organizations, such as Peace Community Church International or Wayshowers Community Fellowship, or
The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society or the International Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia Foundation. Much appreciation goes out to the staff at the Moffitt Memorial Cancer Institute, the Memorial Hospital West in Pembroke Pines and the Trustbridge Hospice in Boca Raton for their service, caring and compassion to Patrick and family. He is missed.
