Obituary for Richard J. Kukulka (1953-2025)

Richard J. Kukulka, age 72, a long time resident of Swedeland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 in Jefferson Einstein Hospital, with loving family at his bedside. Born in Norristown, Richard was the beloved son of the late Jules Kukulka and the late Helen (nee Megless) Kukulka, the cherished brother of Dennis R. Kukulka (Sharon Schaeffer), the late Joseph Kukulka and the late Andrew J. Kukulka, the proud uncle of Cynthia Ryen, Kevin Kukulka (Kelly Saboe), William Kukulka, Brian Kukulka (Melissa Brooks), Sara Friedland (Joshua) and A.J. Kukulka. In addition, Richard is survived by his great-nieces and great-nephews, Jason Ryen, Bridget Kukulka, Bradley Kukulka, Colbie Kukulka, Roman Friedland and Lena Friedland. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Richard, a former member of Our Mother of Sorrows Church and currently a member of Sacred Heart Church, was a graduate of Upper Merion High School, Class of 1971, and went on to have a fulfilling career with Stroehmann Bakeries, working there as a warehouseman for 47 years, until his retirement in 2018. He was a life member of Swedeland Fire Company and enjoyed playing bingo there with friends and also liked to try his luck at the casino.

Relatives and friends are invited to The Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, 305 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg, PA 19405, 610-275-6385, Keith J. Murphy, F.D., www.gutkowskifunerals.com, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, where his family will greet guests from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and his Memorial Service will be held staring at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. The family would appreciate Memorial Donations to Swedeland Fire Company, 609 A Street, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
