Kenneth R. Kukulka, age 83, of Nekoosa, WI died Friday, November 3, 2023 at his home with his family by his side.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 am at Christian Life Fellowship in Port Edwards, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 am prior to the service. Military honors will be provided by the Nekoosa VFW Post #5960.
Ken was born March 1, 1940 in Wausau, WI to Rudolph and Esther (Smolarek) Kukulka. He was a 1958 graduate of Alexander High School and also attended UWSP. Ken served in the United States Airforce, state side, from October 1, 1961 to October 1, 1965. On September 8, 1962 he married his high school sweetheart Joy Brunner in Nekoosa, WI. They were blessed with 61 years of marriage. He was employed by Georgia Pacific Paper Company/Domtar for 42 years, retiring in July of 2001. He was also a volunteer EMT and Firefighter for the Nekoosa Fire Department for 10 years.
Ken was a charter member/elder of Christian Life Fellowship, originally in Nekoosa, WI. He enjoyed serving on numerous mission trips to Columbia, Barbados, Dominican Republic and Venezuela. He enjoyed golfing, family camping and fishing trips, bear hunting and watching football games and a wide variety of sporting events. He was honored to participate in an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in May 2016. But most of all, Ken enjoyed spending time watching his children and grandchildren participate in a variety of sports.
Ken is survived by his wife Joy Kukulka. Children: John (Lori) Kukulka and their family Austin, Colton and Joey Kukulka, Joshua Duchow, Jenna (Brennan) Pierquet, Liz (Lucas) Sommerfeldt and a great-grandson Ozzy Kukulka. Renee (Russ) Lalevee and her children Harrison, Keldon, Evan and Owen Hagan. Steve Kukulka and his family Braxton (Sydney) Kukulka and Nina Kukulka. Scott (Alicia) Kukulka and their family Kate, Brody, Joseph and Drew Vizanko. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph Kukulka and Esther Roth, his in-laws John and Grace Brunner and his brother Henry (Lorraine) Allworden.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Ken's name at a later date.
The family would like to take this time to thank the Oncology Department of Marshfield Clinic, Wisconsin Rapids for the exceptional care give to Ken over the past 11.5 years and to Compassus Hospice Services for the wonderful care the last month.

Many happy memories of Ken and Joy from when we were neighbors. A true gentleman who was always ready to lend a hand. So sorry Joy, you're in my thoughts.
