Richard Scott Lee, Jr was born to Richard Scott Lee and Betsy Segal Lee on June 2, 1982 in Malvern, PA. He was the older brother to Legum Lee, and the husband of Monica Lee for almost 10 years. He went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly early on Sunday October 31, 2021. He was 39 years old.
Scott loved and participated in so many things. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 78 growing up and was awarded his Eagle Scout Award. He graduated from Great Valley High School in 2001 and later studied education at IUP. He later graduated from West Chester University in 2006. He was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity. Scott served as a paraprofessional in several districts in the Chester County area for 7 years before leaving for health reasons.
Scott loved music and theater and was involved in several high school productions. Scott was baptized in college after becoming a Christian. In more recent times he had served on the tech and children's ministries and attended the men's fellowship at Friendship Community Church in Dover.
Scott was vocal about his Prader-Willi diagnosis and how it affected his everyday life. He received a lot of support from staff and patients at the Prader-Willi Institute, and he tried to give the same.
He spent his last 2 years here at Spring Creek Nursing Home in Harrisburg. He had gone there for rehab after a fall in 2019, but due to COVID much of the rehab services were suspended. Scott as always made friends with staff and residents alike. He was active with activities, worship when able to have services, and keeping up with his puzzles and coloring. Telephone contact was most used recently for family and friends, but we were all still very connected.
Scott loved people. He loved being a son and brother, a husband, a son-in-law and brother-in-law, a nephew and a cousin. He also really enjoyed being an uncle to Nathan and Natalie as well as a friend to so many.
Scott brought a lot of light and color to this life. It can honestly be said that be a good or a bad moment, he inspired so much laughter and hope. So while a huge light has left this world, please be comforted that Scott will live on in our hearts and our memories. It was a life well lived and well loved.
We have decided at this time to not proceed with a funeral ceremony for Scott. He will be cremated by Beck Funeral Home in Spring Grove, PA. There are plans for a memorial service at a later date. If anyone would like to remember Scott in a tangible way, donations can be made to
Friends of Troop 78, P.O. Box 22, Malvern PA 19355 or Prader-Willi Syndrome Association

I had the honor of performing alongside Scott in GV musical theater and I have many fond memories of him. Thinking of you all and grieving alongside you.
