Richard Lloyd, Jr. Obituary

Richard Otis Lloyd, of Union Point, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the age of 58. A devoted husband, Mr. Lloyd cherished his wife dearly and took great pride in his family, especially his grandchildren. An outdoorsman at heart, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and simply being outside. Mr. Lloyd’s passion for perfection was evident in everything he did, from his beloved company to the moments spent enjoying life’s simple pleasures. Whether it was sipping coffee on the porch, watching football and NASCAR, or enjoying an old movie, Mr. Lloyd was an old soul who knew how to savor every moment. He will be remembered for his wit, his warmth, and his genuine love for those around him. Mr. Lloyd truly lived life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Angela Benton; and parents, Richard Otis, Sr., and Dixie Faye Lloyd.

Survivors include his children, Shawn Lloyd (Taylor), Ashleigh Bragg (Alan), Rachael Lloyd (Kevin); grandchildren, Kami, Carson, Daisy, Mayslee, Saylor, Spencer, Nevaeh, Brayleigh, Brooklynn, Charleigh, Scarlette, Elijah; Sister, Sonya Jackson (Kris); as well as several nieces and nephews. 

A Funeral Service for Mr. Lloyd will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at Covenant Park Church, 1111 Mary Magnan Boulevard, in Madison and interment following in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, in Forest Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the church, one hour prior to his service, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
