Richard Lyons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McKnight Funeral Home Inc on Jan. 26, 2026.
Richard Allen "Rick" Lyons, age 61 of Crab Orchard, Kentucky passed away Sunday morning, January 25, 2026 at his home. He was the husband of Sheila Deanne Hazel Lyons, whom he married on May 24, 1986 in Berea, Kentucky. Born, June 11, 1964 in Lexington, Kentucky the son of Bonnie Jean Holt Webb and the late Richard Charles Lyons. Rick worked as a production manager for Visumatic Industrial Products. He was a faithful employee there for 42 years. He enjoyed his coworkers and the work they accomplished.

Rick was so much. He was a loving husband, son, dad, grandfather and brother. He truly cherished each of his family. He was a very talented woodworker and metalsmith. Considered by many to be a genius in his ability to problem solve and fix anything. Rick also enjoyed doing home remodeling. He was service minded toward others. He enjoyed going on Habitat for Humanity trips with Berea College students. He was always in awe of the sights and sounds of the outdoors and found great solace in nature. Rick loved to travel. He was also a great cook, bragging to his wife that he was a better cook than her. His wife always said, she was a better baker!

He had his likes and dislikes, one dislike, in that he was adamant about his distaste for "yard-bird" (chicken). He was a skilled driver, who sometimes had a tendency for driving too fast.

He will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and colleagues.
