RICHARD JOSEPH MAJEWSKI

Richard Joseph Majewski, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away at home on August 12, 2025, at age 90. He was born in, grew up, and lived most of his life in Toledo's Polish Village, attending St. Adalbert and Woodward High.

Faith in God was central to Richard's life. As an active member of the Church of God International for over 50 years, he attended services every week that his health allowed. He sometimes de- livered sermonettes, and helped to lead the music. He was devoted to Bible study, and could talk about the strengths, foibles, and motivation of biblical figures as if they were friends and neighbors. In his spare time, he proudly delivered Mobile Meals, served as an election officer, traveled, and attended his grandchildren's activities. He was an active member and officer of the Catholic War Veterans Post 1675. He proudly donated to organizations such as St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, as well as local and national veteran associations. He was fond of the stage, acted in several productions, and volunteered at The Historic Ohio Theatre.

Richard married Ellen Hille on her 22nd birthday, in 1959. They had two sons and two daughters together, and they blended with the son and daughter Ellen had had in a previous marriage. Richard and Ellen were married for 46 years, until her death in 2005. Later, he wed Teresa Lantz, and they remained married for almost 18 years, until Richard's death.

Richard worked as an engineer at Jeep for 43 plus years. During this time, he earned a degree in engineering technology from the University of Toledo. Richard believed strongly in the power of education and continued self-improvement throughout his life in the areas of leadership and advanced engineering.

In his younger days, Richard was a proud member of the Boy Scouts of America. Later, he volunteered to join the Army in 1954, reaching the rank of specialist and serving as a wheeled vehicle mechanic. He was stationed in Italy, and traveled throughout Europe. He was on active duty for three years, then continued as a reservist in Northwest Ohio for eight more years. He loved Italy, and it changed his outlook on life.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa (Lantz) Majewski; and his children, Debbie (Studdard) Ulrich (Marty), Annette (Holden Lewis) Majewski, Martha Majewski, Joseph Majewski, David (Donna) Majewski; and daughter-in-law, Gail Majewski. He is also survived by his grandchildren, J.R. (Nikki) Majewski, Amanda Conte, Rachelle (Robert) De-Long, Ryan (Emily) Ulrich, Michael (Katherine) Ulrich, Justin Ulrich, Nathaniel Lewis, Steven (Becky Tolles) Majewski, Aaron Majewski and Ellen Majewski. He leaves behind 7 great-grandchildren; stepson, Thomas Bragg; and sisters-in-law, Elaine Majewski and Barb Majewski. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Martha (Kania) Majewski; brothers, James and Donald Majewski; first wife, Ellen (Hille) Majewski; and son, Randy Majewski.

A service will be held Monday, August 25, at 11:00 a.m., for all family and friends, in the Chapel of Peace at Toledo Memorial Park, 6382 Monroe Street, Sylvania, Ohio, with military funeral honors at graveside immediately following. Please gather in the main parking area prior to 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made in Richard's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Shriners Children's.
