Richard Lee Malaska passed away on February 27, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 21, 1949 to John and Mary Malaska in Oklahoma City, OK. Richard married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Wolf, on August 21, 1976, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. From that day forward, he became the most supportive and loving husband, never losing his playful spirit.
Their union produced three amazing daughters: Monika Leigh, Michelle Ann, and Mackenzie Rose. He influenced the development of their competitive spirit while providing tips on T-ball and soccer, not to mention poker and blackjack. He also passed along his love of horror films and science fiction, with the mantra “Live Long and Prosper”!
He delighted in walking each of his daughters down the aisle and later in welcoming his grands: Rylie Kathryn, Gage Matthew, Luca Mackenzie, and Lola Tillie. As recently as Christmas, he was chasing his younger granddaughters with his walker, running around the living room and kitchen, with everyone screaming and laughing!
Richard had a soft spot in his heart for his beloved German shepherds, Zena and Zeus, who both remained at his side until the end.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Barbara. Richard is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Monika, her husband Chris Stepniewski, and their children Rylie and Gage; daughter Michelle, her husband Aaron Willander, and their children Luca and Lola; daughter Mackenzie, her husband Jose Nunez and Alana; and brother, Jim Malaska.
In lieu of flowers, Richard would have appreciated contributions to ASPCA or The Humane Society.
