Richard James Malcolm "Jim"
Richard Malcolm, age 89 of Jenison, Michigan (formerly of Tecumseh, MI) passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at American House Sandlewood Manor, Jenison, Michigan. Richard was born April 26, 1933, to James Raymond and Ida Mae (Pearsall) Malcolm in Arenac Township, MI. He grew up in Ypsilanti, MI, where he graduated from high school, enjoying football and swimming as his sports of choice. In 1959, Richard married Elizabeth Winslow, she survives as his wife of over 63 years.
Jim worked at Ford Motor Company as a supervisor for 36 years. He and Liz had two sons and raised them in Manchester for seventeen years in a home built by Jim and Friends. The family enjoyed the rural living and engaged in all outdoor activities, especially sports. Jim was an avid gardener and produced numerous fruits and vegetables, suppling many every year. Family and Friends were always number one on Jim's list. He was very adamite about the boys getting a college education, in his life with Liz. Successful with all, the couple then moved to the Tecumseh area to enjoy a fine retirement.
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife Liz, sons Thomas (DeAnn) Malcolm and David (Rina) Malcolm; his four grandchildren, Kelsi (Will) Drudy (two great grandchildren Liam and Kenedi), Rachel Malcolm, Justin Malcolm and Nicholas Malcolm; his two sisters Delores (Ted) Dixon and Carol Malcolm. He will also be missed and remembered by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and several Aunts and Uncles.
