Richard L. Marold, 80, of Honesdale, died on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Susan Gillow. The couple married on July 29, 1972.

Born on July 10, 1945 in Red Bank, NJ, he was raised by his grandmother, Ethel Marold. He attended school in Honesdale and Hawley. He later drove truck working in construction most of his life. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working for Stephens Pharmacy.

Richard's love for antique cars was a defining aspect of his life. He enjoyed taking care of his antique automobiles. He took great pride in showcasing them at car shows, parades and just cruising around town.

A Nascar fan, he enjoyed traveling around the country to attend races. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Tim Marold and wife Kelly, Richard Marold Jr., Douglas Marold and fiancee, Denise Clune, Victor Marold and fiancee Cheryl Roloson and Vicki Johannes and husband Patrick; his brothers, Donald Masker and wife Mary, Gary Knapp and wife Laura and Jeff Knapp. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brittany Kimble, Bret Marold, Mychaela Pritchard, Nick Johannes, Kiersten Johannes, Hayle Marold and Hannah Marold; 7 great grandchildren and his dog, Eddie.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Sweet.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 12th at 11 am at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale. The family will receive friends on Friday, 10 until the time of service.

Memorial contributions can be made to Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Dr. Honesdale, PA 18431.
