Richard Anthony "Rich" McCormick, 47, of North Attleboro and Sonoma, CA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 27, 2024, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Maria DeJesus "Chuy" Anguiano, to whom he was wed on June 22, 2011.
Born in Roslindale, MA, on August 8, 1976, Rich was a loving son of the late William H. "Red" McCormick, Sr. and Rosemarie (Grassa) McCormick. He grew up in North Attleboro and graduated from North Attleboro High School, where he excelled at football. Rich earned his certification as an industrial battery technician and was employed for many years by Reynolds Batteries and Concentric, both in Petaluma, CA.
Rich was an avid Boston and New England sports fan and a big outdoorsman. He loved hiking, camping, whitewater rafting, swimming, and spending time on the beach by the ocean. He enjoyed riding bicycles and motorcycles, and he was an avid gardener with a green thumb. Rich also loved cooking and baking, often partaking in cookouts and family gatherings. He even cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner one year.
Rich had a special place in his heart for animals. He and Chuy owned four cats and a dog. Known for his thoughtfulness and kind heart, he was the family peacemaker. Rich was a ball of energy, the life of the party, and skilled at breaking the ice in any situation. He was the definition of a people person and a social butterfly, always wanting people around him. Rich was a jokester who enjoyed playfully teasing his friends and family, especially Chuy.
A simple and humble man, Rich was very down-to-earth and selfless. He took after his dad, Red, in that he would give someone the shirt off his back to help them, even when he didn't really want to. He appreciated the small things in life, never hesitating to stop and smell the flowers and embrace the sunshine. Rich was close to his brothers, often saying, "My brother will always be my brother." His favorite times were spent in the company of his adoring family.
In addition to the love of his life, his wife Chuy, Rich is survived by his daughter Miah McCormick, his son Dylan McCormick, and his granddaughter Diana Riley McCormick. He leaves his brothers: Peter McCormick of North Attleboro; Darin McCormick of Attleboro; and William McCormick, Jr. of Missouri; and his sister Carol Milano of Arizona. He is also survived by his stepmother Waynette Fjarli of Hawaii and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Keith McCormick.
Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

Met this fine Man in a mobile game Age of Origins World #779. The short time we played with him, selfless, always helping, great humor. I could only imagine how great of a person outside of game he truly was. R.I.P "RAM" of 779. You will be missed. May you be at peace, and never forgotten. - Statistics - aka Unforgiven, Mr. Peppy of 779 on behalf of the "War" alliance now known as "Cafe of Chaos"

My name is Helmut, I come from Germany. I got to know and appreciate Rich in an online game, AOZ#779. We spent some nice moments together online, he was a very sociable guy. We will all miss him. I wish you / his family all the best for the future. Over time you will have to learn to deal with the pain and loss.
RIP, dear RAM
