In Loving Memory of Richard Dean McKinley

Richard Dean McKinley was born on August 7, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, and passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, in Morrison, Colorado. He was 66 years old.

Richard was a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew him—a man of deep compassion, kindness, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. His life was a testament to love, generosity, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of people.

He is survived by his beloved life partner, Rossi; Rossi’s brothers, Martin (with partner Cecilia and daughters Kati and Linda) and Wolfgang (with partner Anja and their sons Peter and Phillip); as well as Richard’s sister Elizabeth and her husband Steve. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carole and Win McKinley.

After graduating high school, Richard dedicated his professional life to affordable housing property management. Over the years, he earned multiple professional designations in this field, driven by a steadfast belief in making a positive impact on the lives of those facing challenging circumstances. His work was more than a career—it was a calling. He poured his heart into providing stable, safe, and affordable homes for others, embodying his values of dignity, respect, and care for all.

Beyond his work, Richard found joy in music and the freedom of the open road. Whether on his motorcycle or behind the wheel, he embraced life with an adventurous, free spirit that inspired everyone around him.

He will be remembered most for his infectious smile, his warm laughter, and his genuine kindness. Richard had a rare and beautiful gift for lifting the spirits of those around him—always ready with a kind word or a hearty laugh. His legacy of compassion and joy will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing him.

Though Richard is no longer with us in body, his spirit remains—guiding, comforting, and inspiring us every day. May his memory be a blessing, and may we carry forward his legacy of love, light, and compassion in all we do.

A celebration of Life service to honor the life of Richard McKinley will be held on Saturday October 18,2025 at1PM at Horan and McConathy 3101 South Wadsworth Blvd, Lakewood CO 80227.

All who know and loved Richard are warmly invited to attend and celebrate a life so deeply cherished.
