Sharon Ray Binder
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sharon Ray Binder, on September 5th, 2025, at the age of 79. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family after a brief fight with cancer.
Sharon was born in Beeville, Texas on November 24, 1945, to Mary Katherine Simmons and Carl J. Ray Jr. They moved to the Denver area in the early 1950's where she attended Wheat Ridge High School, Colorado College and The University of Colorado. She married Steve Binder on September 3, 1970.
Sharon became a senior teacher with The Ridhwan Foundation and worked for over 30 years with her cherished students in United States and Europe. She was known for her compassion, intuitiveness and grace and was passionate about learning, music, travel, golf, photography, cooking, painting and spending time with her family and all of their dogs.
She was a generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and sister. She will be remembered for her unwavering love and support for her family and the countless memories she made with them.
She is survived by her husband Steve; son Cassidy; daughter Becca (Jeff) Moreland; grandson Finnegan Moreland. She is also survived by her sister Katherine (Bitsy) Blakeley and her husband Jeb Blakeley of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 1:00-3:00 pm at The Club at Rolling Hills located at 15707 W. 26th Ave., Golden, CO 80401.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Intermountain Health Hospice Denver.
