Richard "Dick-Jess" McLarnan, 90 of Mount Vernon, OH passed away on February 25, 2025 at Knox Community Hospital. He was born on May 8, 1934 to Clarence and Clara (Jackson) McLarnan in Mount Vernon, OH
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Nancy J. (Patrick) McLarnan; a daughter Toni (David) Wynn of Strongsville, OH, a son Eric (Michelle) McLarnan of Wooster, OH; grandchildren Jim (Angie) McLarnan, Erica McLarnan, Jesse (Morgan) Wynn, Scott Wynn; great-grandchildren Michael, Eric, Graham and Penelope.
Richard was a lifelong resident of Mt. Liberty, OH and graduated from Centerburg High School. Richard formerly attended Willow Grove Advent Christian Church, He served on the Knox County Career Center Board and the Knox County ESC Board. Richard served as President of both boards at different times from 1975 – 2024. He was a big OSU football and basketball fan. He enjoyed collecting Native American artifacts. Richards favorite thing to do was spent time with his children and his grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a son Randy McLarnan
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
