Richard O. "Dick" Meuth, passed away on January 17, 2024, at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt Vernon, KY, at the age of 92.
He was born in Henderson County, KY on September 17, 1931, son of the late Walter Andrew Meuth and Nannie Grigsby Knight Meuth. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; brothers, Walter Jr, George Knight, Joseph William; and one sister, Mary Sue Meuth.
Dick was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War Era and earned a National Defense Service Medal for Good Conduct. He retired from the US Postal Service after serving as Postmaster. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Brandenburg, KY, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the church choir. Dick was a member of NARFE Chapter 1512, and Harrison Lodge #122 F&AM. Throughout his life, Dick enjoyed everything about living on the Ohio River, from boating to watching the barges pass and he could often he found on the river's edge.
He is survived by his son, Richard Kevin (Ruth) of Science Hill, KY; one grandson, Derrick Ryan of Somerset, KY; one niece, and several nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Brandenburg, KY with funeral services beginning at 6:00.
There will be a private burial in Cap Anderson Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Kosair Children's Hospital.
