O B I T U A R Y
Richard Michael Mitchell of Flatwoods, Kentucky, formerly of Green County, son of the late Shively Richard Mitchell and Hortense Henderson Mitchell, was born on Monday, February 24, 1941 in Greensburg and departed this life on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Taylor Regional Hospital. He was 84 years and 7 days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church Russell where he was devoted to his church family. He read gas meters in the engine room of the Tennessee Gas Plant. Many years ago, he ran the ambulance service for the funeral home. He was a member of the Lions Club, loved hunting, and most of all loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris Dean Chaudoin Mitchell of Flatwoods, having united in marriage on July 7, 1962.
Other survivors include his three daughters and a son-in-law: Tonya Mitchell of Ohio, Stephanie Mitchell of Campbellsville, Angela and Mike Mandziak of Nicholasville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The funeral services for Richard Michael Mitchell will be conducted at 1 P.M., Central Time, Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery. Bro. Ken Gowin officiating.
Visitation is requested after 10 A.M., Central Time, Friday until time of the funeral.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund or First Baptist Church Russell Mission Fund which can be made at the funeral home.
