Richard Royal Moore was born on July 19, 1954 in Ennis, Texas to Betty Mundy Moore and Donald Melvin Moore, who both predeceased him. He was a second child and brother to Lisle Keith Moore. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis high school in 1972.
After school, Rick went to Navarro College. Rick's love for the sport of bowling had started when he was a young child in Ennis. He went on to pursue his career as a professional bowler, and was a member of the Professional Bowlers Association. Rick toured and competed on the national circuit as well as the regional level. He was a much accomplished bowler with many accolades for 800 series, several 300 perfect games; numerous 299 and 298 games. Rick enjoyed working in the pro shops at the bowling centers in De Soto, Ennis and Waxahachie. He worked at Walmart for several years before retiring.
Rick married Janet Moore-Collins in 1982 for 30 years and they had three children and she remained his faithful friend until death.
As a father of two daughters and a son, he had plenty of opportunities to share his love for bowling and sports. He coached his daughter's softball teams and and coached his sons' baseball teams and cheered him on through high school. Rick also loved to play golf and tournaments with his buddies from high school. Even though he was a weekend golfer, he won many long drive contests. He became a true Waxahachie fan until they played Ennis Lions and then the Lion came out in him. Rick truly loved as a father being able to share his passion for sports.
Rick loved the Lord and was a member of Park Meadows Church in Waxahachie.
Rick died in Waxahachie on September 24, 2022, at the age of 68. His grandson, Kolby Moore preceded him in death, in 2021. Those left to cherish his memories,in addition to his brother, Keith and wife, Pat Moore, he is survived by his daughters, Tessa McLaughlin, and husband, Frank, Haley Moore, and fiance', Jordan Stephenson, son, Matthew Moore; his grandchildren, Alex Fallen, Lexi Moore, and Gunner McLaughlin and niece, Tawnya Collins.
