A dearly beloved husband, father and retired member of the Eastchester Police Department, Richard Michael Morrissey, sadly passed away on May 14, 2025. Richard was born in Bronxville, New York on May 16, 1945. He was predeceased by his parents John and Viola (Crane) Morrissey as well as his sister Marilyn (Montray) Morrissey, and his brother John Morrissey. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mary Anita (Campion) Morrissey and their daughter Marga Bridget, as well as his son Richard, and his mother Linda.
Richard lived in Eastchester for almost the entirety of his life. He graduated from Eastchester High School in 1964, and he served as a battalion armorer in the US Army in Germany from 1965-1967. He worked at Morrissey Auto Body in Eastchester from 1967-1975, and took over ownership of the shop in 1975 when his father retired. His tenure at R Morrissey Auto Body ended when he joined the Eastchester Police Department in 1986.He was a ten year veteran of the force, retiring when he suffered a serious injury in 1996.
Richard's friendly demeanor, quick wit and sense of humor were felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a fond lover of history, had the best stories, and was always down for an adventure. Richard clearly saw the bright side of life, and he will be sorely missed by those who loved him.
